Hey there, Mr. Norris.

I apologize for not responding to this post sooner.

As of right now, there is no specific game design program that is offered at U of T. There are a number of programs at U of T that may involve some game design-related coursework (the Computer Science program is one of them), but you should know that most of the courses that you’ll be taking in any particular program will not specifically involve learning about game producing.

Hahaha. Nice! I just actually unintentionally spent the last hour online looking through the various interviews that Jonathan Mak has had (I knew of him and his work from before, but never really took the time to read much about him). He seems to have some very interesting opinions when it comes to video games and game design.

I can't guarantee that we'll be able to get him to come down and speak to the club, but I'll certainly give it a try.

First off, I can't remember if this was the meeting I was at, but great job getting the founders of the club.

I can't remember who I told, but I mentioned to one of them about a game called gate88.

I decided to look it up again after seeing the beta email. Turns out the game is by a University of Toronto alumni, Jonathan Mak (http://www.queasygames.com/). He also took part in TOJam in 2006. I found this guy's game because it was in Linux forums, and I'm a GNU-loving guy, but it's playable on all platforms and multi-playing is possible. In fact, he made it easy to play for cdf ;)

We have to try and get this guy to give some sort of talk. I've been playing his game since 2006-07!
